OpenConsultant · Draft specification 0.1.0

Connect your company

Make your consultants discoverable while keeping all information on your own website.

  1. Publish your feed

    Create an openconsultant.json file on your website. It lists your consultant profiles, each as a small file of its own. Follow our example or use the specification.

    See example JSONStep by step for developers

  2. Test your website

    Enter your domain. We check that your feed is available and follows the standard.

  3. Join the directory

    Once your feed passes, the test offers to add your website to the public directory. Your consultant data stays on your own domain: the directory only stores the domain name and how many consultants it lists.

    Joining is optional. It makes your company easier to find, but you can follow OpenConsultant without being listed.

  4. Show you are connected

    Add the optional OpenConsultant badge to your website. It tells visitors that you publish in an open format, and it links to a live check of your feed.

    Put the file on your own website and link it like this, with your own domain at the end of the address:

    <a href="https://openconsultant.io/test/?domain=example.com">
      <img src="/openconsultant-badge.svg" alt="Publishes consultants with OpenConsultant" width="176" height="32">
