OpenConsultant · Draft specification 0.1.0

Directory

The domains that publish consultants and open assignments according to the two open standards.

Reading the directory…

How a domain gets listed

Test the domain. When its files follow the standard, the test offers to add the domain here. Listing is voluntary: the standards work without it, and nothing has to be registered to publish.

Every listed domain is read again a few times a day. The numbers follow what the domain publishes, and a domain that stops publishing disappears from the list.

What is stored

The domain name, the number of consultants and the number of open assignments it lists, and when it was last read. No profile, no assignment and no name is stored. Follow a domain in the list to read what it publishes, straight from the source.

Build on it

The list is open data at /directory.json, readable from any origin. It tells you where the entry files are. Fetch the consultants and assignments from each publisher, as the specification describes.
